The Turkmen Alabay has been officially recognised by UNESCO: today in Ashgabat a certificate was awarded confirming the inclusion of the “Art of Breeding the Turkmen Alabay” in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The ceremony featured an exhibition of national values and a showcase of the breed’s finest examples, while the esteemed President of Turkmenistan emphasised that the Alabay is a symbol of beauty, loyalty, and the spiritual values of the nation, whose traditional breeding practices have received international recognition.
