UK Export Finance (UKEF) held meetings with key ministries and institutions in Turkmenistan to discuss new opportunities for trade and investment, according to the UK Embassy in Turkmenistan.

The British delegation explored potential cooperation in sectors including energy, infrastructure, agriculture and the green transition, with an emphasis on supporting Turkmenistan’s sustainable development goals through UK-backed financing.

The visit was made possible with the support of Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which hosted the delegation in Ashgabat.

Officials on both sides expressed hope the meetings will mark the beginning of a stronger partnership between the United Kingdom and Turkmenistan.

This was UKEF’s first official visit to Turkmenistan.
