The Government of Bangladesh plans to expand its exports to the markets of the CIS countries, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. The announcement was made by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam during a meeting with the leadership of the Bangladesh–CIS Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Priority markets include the countries of Central Asia, including Turkmenistan, as well as other CIS member states. The government is ready to support businesses in diversifying exports and strengthening investment cooperation.

The main export products are expected to include pharmaceuticals, jute and leather goods, ceramics, seafood, tropical fruits, and IT services. To boost trade, both sides proposed increasing business delegation exchanges and organizing specialized trade exhibitions.
